PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The rack and pinion gear set has two main functions: Conversion of the steering wheel's rotational motion into the linear motion needed for the vehicle's wheels to turn. Reduction of gears, which makes it easier for the steering wheel to turn the wheels.
Clunking noises when you turn the steering wheel, leaking power steering fluid, and a loose steering wheel with a lot of play. This obviously makes steering and car control more difficult. This is why you shouldn't drive a car with a bad rack and pinion as this can lead to a major accident.

- Replace Power Steering Pressure and Return Hoses when replacing the rack & pinion. Steering hoses can degrade internally and cause contamination in the power steering system, which can damage the new rack & pinion
- Completely flush the system with an OE approved Power Steering Fluid prior to installation (the correct type of fluid is noted on the reservoir cap or in your owner's manual). Flushing the system is critical to prevent system contamination and failure
- Bleed the system to prevent noise and extend the life of the steering components
